The unforgettable “Russian warship, go f*** your The unforgettable “Russian warship, go f*** yourself” stamp by @borisgroh. A driving idea behind Creative Force was documenting how creators use art to help the community in times of crisis. Three years on, this Ukrainian postage stamp continues to inspire as a symbol of resistance. The stamp commemorates the 13 border guards who refused to surrender Ukraine’s Snake Island to the Russian warship Moskva, famously replying, “Russian warship, go f*** yourself.” Chosen via a public Facebook vote, the winning stamp design by artist Boris Groh shows a foreground figure of a lone soldier giving “the finger” to a large warship looming in the distance. Despite one million stamps being issued, the design quickly sold out, with some people standing in line for hours to purchase the stamps as a sign of support. #SnakeIsland #Ukrpochta #MoskvaSinking #Ukraine #BorisGroh #Resistance
Three years ago we started making this film to doc Three years ago we started making this film to document the wartime lives of ordinary Ukrainians. Their successful defiance of the Russian invasion had surprised the world, and we wanted to learn how they did it. What we found was a resistance rooted in resilience. We watched everyday people learn that they all had a skill to contribute, and gain strength from that knowledge. Now we are privileged to bring their stories to the world. Creative Force is currently being screened at universities and other private screenings as a precursor to its 2025 festival run. Graffiti artist Sabir Mamedov was asleep when the Graffiti artist Sabir Mamedov was asleep when the first bombs hit. That didn’t stop him from jumping into action immediately. After evacuating to the west, he was quickly recruited to the Civil Resistance and Assistance Foundation, a team of civilians that supports the military with vehicle modifications and other tactical gear. Today, Sabir helps @craf_ua turn ordinary cars into camouflaged vehicles ready to operate on the front lines of the #ukrainewar. His work has been covered by @nytimes and @bloomberg .
